A music artist primarily generates income through three primary avenues. Sales of their music, not giving it away for free. Income from merchandise, again a copyrighted item containing their name, logo or likeliness and going on tour generated through ticket sales with the promoter.
Perhaps the goal of some artists is the distribution of art and not the accumulation of wealth.

Got to make a living. You either make it or you don't. A one hit wonder can only get you so far. I would say artists like Bruce Springsteen and Jimmy Buffet and, bands like Metallica, Kiss who I have worked for touring the globe have done well in the music industry by choosing the correct paths when ot comes to business.

I never said I didn't believe you. Just illustrating that the average person is unaware that most music is protected through copy right laws. And these music played at business are subject to paying royalty fees. But yes, there are some artists who want to give away their content for free, but I would say they are just trying to get into business or simply a low level artist. Once you make a name for yourself, you need to protect your content, whether its through a record label, or whatever artists do these days.

This is personal to me as I like Sarah (Slotlady) and I personally welcome her participation on the forum. If anything, we should be more welcoming of anyone who isn't a white male, as almost all of us are on this forum.
So I want to address some issues that I feel are important to discuss, nearly from an informational perspective. Let me start by saying, I truly am not offended by Mr. Wizard's comment even though I find it racist. Judging someone based on their skin color is the epidemy of racism but I find it to be the most common form of racism due to ignorance. That being said, I am one of the very few people who have experienced this form of racism from 2 different sides my entire life. There have been countless kids that labeled me white, I can distinctly recall a group of black kids at my high school claiming that I owed them for enslaving their people & me having to explain that my people were also enslaved.
But the real irony is that the majority of my childhood I believed I was white because my mom kept my heritage from not just me, but my entire family including my stepdad. I can distinctly recall another group of kids asking if I was Mexican & telling them that I was white. They then said I looked Mexican & I told my brother & we both laughed without realizing there was some serious truth to their words.
So my heritage is a little complicated. I only met my biological dad, grandma & grandpa 1 time after being out of his life at the age of 5. They hired a private investigator to find me & I met them all 1 time at a sushi restaurant in Sacramento, even brought my girlfriend at the time. My dad's name is Rory Marrarow, my grandpa's name is Pete, & my grandma's name is Juanita. Pete & Juanita had been separated for over a decade when we met & Rory had to fly from Washington to see me. When I asked them to tell me about their heritage Pete got really shy & putoff from the question. Apparently, Pete is extremely embarrassed with his heritage according to my mom. But Juanita opened up with a story of her father.
Apparently he was a medicine man & Raindancer for the Apache Native American clan. He apparently road with Geronimo & when they lost the last war he followed Geronimo to Mexico because of something about the U.S. government going back on their word about granting Apache their own reservation. They apparently wanted the Apache to share reservations with other tribes & many Apache choose death over compromising to tyranny. Historically, apache often chose death over slavery but apparently, that's not the only reason why they have the lowest ancestors since they were the only Native American clan to have active bounties placed on their heads from not just the US but also Mexico. But also because half the Apache fled to Mexico after the war, only the Apache that chose to go to a shared reservation site became documented Apache & are the only Apache that are federally recognized today.
Juanita is an F1 Mestizo, her father was captured by Spanish settlers who invaded Mexico many years earlier. He would have been killed for the bounty reward if a Mexican had captured him, but he was forced into slavery my the Spanish. Apparently, it was a law that a kid would inherit his mother's status, so he had a child with her mother who was the sister of the slave owner (who was a merchant) so that his kid Juanita would have a free life. Juanita ended up meeting Pete while attending college in the U.S. & never returned to Mexico.
Now after Juanita spent maybe a half-hour explaining her story, Pete finally opened up and explained that something very similar had happened within his family. Apparently, his father was Puerto Rican & his mother was Mexican. The sad thing is, even he didn't know the full story of how his father made it to the west side of America. It almost seemed like he didn't want to know, like the information would cause him despair. What I do know is that it's very rare for any Puerto Rican to have excavated to the West but Pete's father was also a slave to Mexico & had a child to a Mexican mother who apparently they were in love. Pete grew up in Mexico with his mother & only came to the U.S. to study Business in college. He eventually became the largest district owner of Big O Tires which I think is impressive.
So here is my completed heritage for you to see. What's funny is my father was born in Argentina & to top it all off my family has been poor our entire lives so I definitely don't consider us your typical white family. There are still people that claim I'm white regardless of me informing them of my heritage. When I hear stuff like that I feel like racism doesn't even exist anymore & it's not skin color discrimination. What's funny is I am by far the palest I have ever been in my life yet I still can't produce tan lines or get pale lol. I am going to post a picture of me and my (half) brother, in the picture it's obvious as day that my skin color at least 3x darker than my brother & we are both under 5 years old so you can't say I just got a major skin tan at that age lol.

I had to look that one up. My search came back with this Kansas City journalist.
Is she your great grandmother?

Wow, oh heck no lol Btw she passed away in her 80's (at least I think she was that old).
That is so rude portraying her like that. She might be throwing her money away on the worst games in the house, and remorseful she isn't hitting, but your portrayal is still insulting.
We tread lightly, or not so lightly everyday on insulting each other. No need to defend her, she seems like she can handle herself, or learn to.beachbumbabs

Wow! Look at this genius over here!!! Honestly I didn't see the ring, I guess you were hoping the flash would obscure it so you could show just how intelligent you are? You silly troll. Also I'm not playing to make $$$, but for entertainment! I just enjoy the games! Mb you depend on the hope of a slot jackpot for your income, I'm not sure?
Slotlady,
We consider the bolded part of your quote above to be a personal insult. Your first sarcastic sentence is also very close to one. WARNING. Argue as vigorously as you like about what was said, but do not insult fellow members. Thanks.
You probably should know that many of the regulars are slot designers, mathematicians, and/or professional players. We do quiz each other. And discuss gaming at a deeper level of detail than you might find elsewhere.
All,
She's not wrong about the quiz being a bit of a troll. So she gets a warning, not a suspension. Manners, guys.

We need to be a good example when interacting with new members. Especially when they are certified real people, not vpn people messing around. Both are foul in this interaction but he knows better with forum experience.Administrator
I wasn't hoping for anything. The game does a fireworks animation on a big win that just happened to sort of block that symbol when I took the picture.
You're partially right, quite a bit of my income this year has come from slot jackpots. That machine alone ended up being worth +$8600 (+$4300 each for me and my buddy) but it's expected value was really only +$800.
But I'm thinking my initial suspicion was correct. Bored housewife with too much money that wanted a YouTube channel.
Rude and you know it. WARNING. Offsetting penalty, as she called you a silly troll first.
There are dozens, if not more, youtube slot channels, and thousands of individual videos. Her production quality is better than average, and she's showing interesting machines with no ads. So what's the harm in her being a non-expert? She builds the jackpots you snap off. I'd think you'd encourage her all the more.
